The new year has come with it's amazing gift bag filled with Hope, Dreams and Ton of Expectations. As I try to articulate my thoughts, the leading is to RE: my
last blog post titled SINGLE & CONTENT.
Alot of handy experiences, life lessons, new perspectives and all the in-betweens. It’s an auspicious month, February, the month of LOVE! There’s this outburst of both healthy & some unhealthy Emotions. If you’re a Single who is waiting & trusting God for a life partner, then this content is for you.
The human need to
Love, feel loved, and be loved by that significant other is all in the air, the energy is overwhelming. Couples making Love plans, some happen to be your parents,
colleagues, friends, siblings, or relatives and you’re left thinking, “Has the Lord
forgotten me or am I not worthy of Loving and being Loved”?
True! Being single at
19 or 25 is very different from being single at 30 or 45, but understand
something, your questioning of the present “situation” doesn’t in anyway alter
God’s plan for your life.
Please get this, God isn’t as much interested in your relationship with your significant other than He is about
your Single state. He is all about you being Unique, Separate and whole,
because he knows without these things in place, any relationship you get into
is bound to fail and leave you emotionally scarred. If that isn’t LOVE, I
don’t know what else best describes God’s Intentions for you. Ultimately, it is
to make you better, so together with your significant other, purpose will be
fulfilled.
You may feel that you’re ready which frankly speaking depends on your context 'Ready',
but believe me when I say, it's best to TRUST GOD’S TIMING. He knows when to bring
that significant other into your life and there will be no reason to doubt on that
person being from God.
Their personalities, Values and Belief would blend seamlessly with yours. Rushing into any random relationship for the fear of being alone without letting God work on you first, would expose so many of your hidden weaknesses that would’ve been made strong if only you waited.

Suddenly you realize you’re Lonelier
than when you were “Alone”, your temperaments get unstable, your Emotions
become inflammable. You realize how immature you are about certain kind of
conversations. All these brood a kind of you that isn’t you, your insecurities
begin to spring up, you practically become a total mess, and in trying to make
things right, you find yourself making even more Errors, it just doesn’t end.
This overwhelming discovery can leave you depressed, hopeless, scarred and
scared about getting into any other Relationship.
I am not saying that you must attain
perfection in character before venturing into a relationship, but, what I am saying
is that you Trust and Wait for Him who knows you more than anyone else, let God
break and mold you into the fine person anyone would want to have as a life
partner. This only happens when you take out time to BUILD, PRAY & MASTER certain things about you which you only get to
know when you stay with God.
If this describes your current state,
believe me, you’re not alone. What should come to you as a relief is that you’re
getting information that can make you better, and that information is returning
to the drawing board, return to your maker, speak to him, spark that first love
with God and watch him transform you. His Love never leaves you feeling
rejected, He knows just how to fix you! He’ll teach you how to Love and accept
yourself, He’ll break down those false expectations the world sneakily crept
into your mind. He totally transforms your thought pattern and make you whole.
Here’s the best part, this transformation would be the most attractive thing your
significant other would see in you.
Allow God interrupt your ‘Single-you-Doing-Purpose’ to connect you.
It’s not a competition, so please take your time, groom yourself, Love
yourself, deal with your insecurities, nurse your ambitions, kick start that enterprise, write that book, sort your career/education, sort your finances and should you ever feel Sad about your
Single state? Literally snap your finger & say; “HEY! BE HAPPY”. Remember
God is faithful, He will never relent on his promise to you because He sure loves you.
